To help girls and boys prepare for their first Reconciliation (Confession) and First Holy Communion our own Fr Chris O'Donnell has worked with iCatholic, on behalf of the Catechetics Council of the Irish Bishops' Conference, to produce 3 video lessons for First Communion children and their families.
The lessons are delivered by Johanna O'Brien and Eleanor O'Brien from Limerick along with Fr Chris. Both Johanna and Eleanor trained as teachers at Mary Immaculate College and have been involved in the Limerick Diocese's Youth Ministry programmes.
Many thanks to Leonie Passmore, Principal of Scoil Mocheallóg in Kilmallock, who supported the initiative by providing a classroom to record the lessons.
In this first lesson Eleanor, Johanna and Fr Chris help girls and boys to understand Reconciliation (Confession) and how important it is to admit when we make mistakes, say we are sorry and receive God's forgiveness through Reconciliation.

In this second lesson Eleanor, Johanna and Fr Chris help girls and boys to understand the different parts of the Mass: Sorry, Story, Supper and Sending. They learn how Jesus is present for them in the Community gathered, in the Word and in Holy Communion.

In this third lesson Eleanor, Johanna and Fr Chris help girls and boys to learn the prayers and responses for the different parts of the Mass and prepare them to receive Jesus in Holy Communion.
