Recruitment of Safeguarding Compliance Officer

The Church of Ireland strives towards the highest standards in safeguarding children and adults. We believe that our duty of care extends to keeping those in our communities safe and as a Church we are committed to developing and implementing procedures and practices that will protect all children and adults from harm.

The United Dioceses of Tuam, Limerick & Killaloe is now recruiting a Safeguarding Compliance Officer for a 3 year term (with the possibility of an extension) who will be responsible for the oversight of all Diocesan Safeguarding procedures in line with the Church of Ireland Safeguarding Board’s Policies in the Republic of Ireland.

The job entails supporting and encouraging clergy and parishes towards compliance in the letter but also the spirit of the measures, i.e. working with people collaboratively as a guide and backup.

Previous experience in a Social Care or equivalent such as Health Care, Teaching or Criminal Justice is essential.

The post is part–time – 12 hours per week, remote working.

Access to one’s own transport is required.

Send your letter of application and cv to Ms Lorna Sharpe either by email to diocesansecretary@limerick.anglican.org or by post to the Diocesan Office, Kellysgrove, Ballinalsoe, Galway, Co Galway

The closing date for receipt of applications is Friday, 16th February, 2024.
